A Tiered Approach

Panther City Rugby has developed a multifaceted, tiered approach to develop quality rugby players while offering programs that meet your level of commitment.  All programs support male and female teams. 

Below is an overview of the programs offered by our club:
            Select-Side Travel Program
                    Scholastic Rugby Program
                            Metro Rugby Program
                                    Community Rugby Program

Select-side Travel Program
  • For the athlete that desires to compete at a national / international level.
  • Requires a 7+ month commitment and ability to travel throughout, and out-of, the state for competitions.  

Metro Rugby Program
  • Offers competitve opprotunities without extensive travel requirements.  Most competitions are held within the DFW area.
  • Seasons are 10 to 14 weeks.
  • Practices are once or twice a week
  • Competitions are roughly every other weekend.
Scholastic Rugby Program
  • Supports the development of rugby as a varsity sport within the schools.
  • Athletes from the same high school have opprotunities to play as a 7-a-side or 15-a-side team.

Community/Flag Rugby Program
  • Offers a low-cost entry point for players new to the game, or for those that want to participate at more recreational level.
  • Seasons are 6 weeks in length
  • Most competitions are held at Gateway Park on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings

Rugby Tots

  • Geared for those aged 3 to 6 as means of developing the basic elements of Rugby and all sports.  Emphasis is placed on FUN ACTIVITES to improve coordination, agility, and focus.
  • Sessions are offered on Saturday mornings in the fall and spring.
