Rugby Skill Clinics

Panther City Rugby, in collaboration with Alliance Rugby and TCU Rugby, offers various specialized clinics throughout the year.  These clinics provide novice to advance athletes the opprotunity to learn and fine tune skills to elevate their level of play.  Lead by a diverse roster of coaches, athletes expand their perspective and get expert coaching beyond what is available during regular practice sessions. 

Free introductory clinics are also offered to help orient novice players (and parents) to the game before making a commitment to the club for a competitive season. 

Clinics are held at Gateway Park or at Keller Sports Park.  Please check the events calendar to ensure location.

Open to males and females, ages 7 to 18

Passing Kicking, Running  Skills
 Participants will learn and develop various skills and decision making related to rugby passing, catching, kicking, and running.  Pertinent rules (laws) of the game will be introduced or examined.
***    No prior experience reguired.
***    Generally held in September, February, June

Contact & Continuity of Play
Participants will learn to safely perform the various contact skills in rugby: tackle, ruck, maul and scrum.  The concept of "continuity of play" after contact will be examined to improve player and group decision making.  Pertinent rules (laws) of the game will be introduced or examined.
***    Completion of above recommended  or prior competitive experience.
***    Generally held in October, March, July

Conccpts for Group Play & Team Strategy
Building on prior clinics and player expereince, these clinics introduce player roles in various group and team strategies to attack and defend the opposition.  Whole field decision making will be emphasized. Pertinent rules (laws) of the game will be introduced or examined.
***    Completion of above recommended  or prior competitive experience.
***    Generally held in November, April, August
