Women's Rugby Senior Side

Picture
Panther City Rugby is continually recruiting to develop and expand the Club's women's rugby program.  Our goal is to establish women's premiere-level rugby in the Fort Worth area to compete in both versions of the sport: 15s and 7s.

Females interested in playing must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate. No prior rugby experience is need!  However, a commitment to developing a basic athletic level of fitness is a must for success on the field and personal safety at the high levels of competition.  Regardless, we are an inclusive organization that accepts players of all fitness levels and body shapes.  A willingness to learn and have fun it paramount.

15-a-side (15s) rugby is generally played January through April with practice starting in the fall.  From there, we transition into playing a 7-a-side (7s) rugby season (May through September).  Teams are governed by the Texas Rugby Union and compete in the Red River Rugby Conference to qualify for USA Rugby National Championships.  Though Panther City Rugby seeks to compete at the highest levels, opportunities are always available to play as a "social" or developmental squad.

Practices are generally on the athletic field at Trimble Technical HS one or two days a week in the evenings.  From time to time, we also utilize the grass fields on the south side of Gateway Park near Fort Woof Dog Park.  Contact us for current practice days and times when you are ready to come out.
